At least twice a month, we host concerts by Czech and international musicians. Fans of various musical genres, from folk to (pop)rock, will find something to enjoy. We regularly feature well-known singer-songwriters, as well as multi-genre or revival bands. Our multi-functional hall offers not only a great atmosphere but also good acoustics and high-quality sound. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Our theater performances bring audiences face-to-face with acting stars and provide a high-quality theatrical experience without the need to travel to Prague’s city center. We stage performances once a month from October to April. <\/p><\/div>

We also provide facilities for the amateur theater group AMARTUM (formerly Ochotn\u00edci Ji\u017en\u00ed M\u011bsto) and host the South City Amateur Theater Showcase.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

MUSICAL ENCOUNTERS IN SOUTH CITY<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

A series of classical music concerts held both indoors and under the open sky<\/strong><\/p>

To mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of South City (Ji\u017en\u00ed M\u011bsto) in 2026, the program will include a themed concert titled “Half a Century of South City: A Musical Portrait.” Each year of the series will be dramaturgically unified by a thematic thread. The first season in 2026 will carry the subtitle “50 Years of South City” and will be dedicated to celebrating the cultural, urban, and human identity of this significant residential area. <\/p>

The summer part of the series (May \u2013 September)<\/b> will offer open-air concerts in parks and public spaces, such as the Park at Chodovsk\u00e1 tvrz, South City Central Park, or the courtyards of cultural and educational institutions. String quartets, soloists, opera singers, student chamber ensembles, and choirs will perform here. The atmosphere will be informal and accessible to all age groups, with the option of picnic seating on blankets and refreshments from local businesses. The program will range from light classics and film music to special concerts for families with children. <\/p>

The winter part (October \u2013 March)<\/b> will move to indoor spaces with suitable acoustics and technical facilities. Concerts will take place at locations such as Chodovsk\u00e1 tvrz and the Zahrada Cultural Center. These will focus on chamber repertoire, solo recitals, opera arias, and themed concerts such as Advent music evenings, a New Year’s concert for seniors, or programs inspired by sacred music. An important element is the opportunity for follow-up discussions with the performers, making the events interactive and educational. <\/p>

A total of eight concerts will take place throughout the year: four in the summer outdoor section and four in the winter indoor cycle. Each performance will be enriched by a community dimension, offering the chance for informal meetings and connecting the audience with the performers. Emphasis is placed on local cooperation, involving the South City Art School (ZU\u0160), local primary schools, and cultural institutions. <\/p>

The project will help raise the profile of Prague 11 as a culturally active district. Added value is also provided by offering concerts in barrier-free spaces and the possibility of adapting certain programs for people with hearing or visual impairments. Admission will be voluntary or symbolic, with an emphasis on accessibility for everyone. The ambition is to create a traditional cultural platform that brings classical music closer to people and continues to develop for the benefit of the entire community. <\/p>

To mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of South City in 2026, the program will include a themed concert titled “Half a Century of South City: A Musical Portrait of a Housing Estate.” This special evening will commemorate the history, architecture, and human stories of this district through a selection of works by Czech composers, personal memories, projections of historical photographs, and moderated segments. The concert will be held in the spirit of celebrating the identity of the place, its evolution, and its cultural potential. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

South City Carnival.<\/p>

The South City Carnival (Masopust) follows the tradition of carnival festivities and parades. It leads from the Opatov metro station to the Mother Teresa Community Center and concludes with a themed afternoon of games featuring traditional carnival characters and a children’s theater performance. <\/p>

Witches’ Night<\/p>

An afternoon and evening program for children and adults. It includes children’s games, the popular roasting of sausages, an outdoor fairy tale, the traditional burning of the witch, a concert, and the essential surprise after dark. <\/p>

Children’s Day<\/p>

Children’s Day is a gift for all children on their special day. For our little celebrants, we have prepared an afternoon of games packed with fun at numerous stations where children can play, create, try new skills, or enjoy some sports. <\/p>

Grilling Without Borders<\/p>

The end of June and September belong to grilling at KC Zahrada. The afternoon and early evening are filled not only with grilling but also with pleasant neighborly get-togethers, music for dancing and listening, and games and workshops for children. <\/p>

St. Nicholas Parade<\/p>

On the eve of St. Nicholas Day, the devil, the angel, and St. Nicholas\u2014along with many little angels and devils\u2014set off on a parade through Central Park, where a fiery surprise, sweet and warm refreshments, and a carol sing-along await them.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
