The story of David, a successful writer, who realizes one evening that he knows nothing about his housekeeper, whom he has employed for twenty-eight years. She, on the other hand, knows almost everything about him, and one evening David finally tries to learn something about her too. It might seem that the well-educated David would have the upper hand in the conversation, but his housekeeper Lucy—whom David compares to a “sassy 1940s movie star”—is a surprisingly good match for him in their dialogue. The fact that she has David all figured out is, of course, a great advantage for her. Sparks fly between them as the plot moves dynamically forward. Just when the audience feels they know everything, more and more surprises follow… Two brilliantly written roles for two great actors.
